Amy Poehler's Inner Child Debuts Before Her Real One Does
Fri, 09 May 2008
'Baby Mama' star Amy Poehler, already glowing, rubbed elbows with such
high-profile personalities as Martha Stewart, Tyler Perry and even
singer Suzanne 'My Name is Luka' Vega at Time 100 Gala at the
Frederick P. Rose Hall in NYC last night.
Amy and her 'Weekend Update' co-anchor Seth Myers amused the crowd on stage during the event, which celebrates Time magazine's most influential people on the planet.
The SNL star, who is expecting a baby with Arrested Development star Will Arnett (three words: Funniest. Baby. Ever.), recently debuted a new Nickelodeon cartoon, 'The Mighty B.'
Amy provides the voice of the lead character, 9-year-old Bessie Higgenbottom, a girl obsessed with obtaining merit badges from her Honeybee troupe.
Amy told TV Guide, the character is like 'Animal (from the Muppet Show) meets Gilda Radner meets Daffy Duck meets Jimmy Stewart: energetically optimistic' and added, 'We wanted to do a show that had a strong female character who didn't have too many rainbows and unicorns.'
Somehow I think Amy is going to be the Best. Mom. Ever.
