Further proving that he's definitely softened up since arriving on our shores, 'American Idol' judge Simon
Cowell, dressed in his best semi-tight sweater and took his mother out
for an early Mother's Day celebration at LA's Ivy on Robertson
Boulevard.
Simon had a cigarette break, smoking Kools while he waited for his chauffeured Rolls Royce. I never pictured Simon as a menthol guy, I would have at least thought Marlboro Lights would be his ciggie of choice.
Like the old Nick Lowe song, Simon recently revealed that he had no apologies for his criticism of contestants on 'AI' by saying that sometimes you've got to be 'Cruel to Be Kind.'
He told Parade magazine that as a teenager, 'I learned more when people criticized me than when they lied and said I was doing all right. So [now] I would feel guilty about giving people fake hope when they have no hope.'
Well, we're glad you can accept criticism Simon - so how about getting a proper shirt?
