The city of Sydney, that is.
Earlier today the American actor star was spotted tooling around
on his scooter. This afternoon, it's surfing.
Probably a good idea for him to keep up those peck-building activities, considering that the
X-men: Wolverine movie he's down under filming has him cast as this big guy:
That's the evil, scary mutant
Sabretooth - for those of you who don't happen to be comic book junkies - the arch-nemesis of
Hugh Jackman's character, Wolverine.
I have to say I have 0.00 interest in this X-men crap.
Far as I can tell, the cast line-up is the best aspect of the move. It includes
Ryan Reynolds,
Dominic Monaghan, and
Taylor Kitsch, among other moderate to highly attractive ex-boyfriends of mine.

R&B diva Mariah Carey looks like she's still celebrating her recent marriage to actor Nick Cannon. The happy couple were spotted on their way home after a night out at the Gyu-Kaku restaurant in West Hollywood.
Nick climbed over his blushing bride, who sat in the back seat of her limo with her husband's jacket around her shoulders.
Mariah talked about her somewhat spontaneous wedding on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show and said that she and Nick hope to have a wedding ceremony every year, especially since hairstylists and make-up artists nearly outnumbered the guests at the private beachfront ceremony.
When the question of kids popped up, Mariah was a bit vague in her answer, telling Ellen, 'I always said...if I found the right person who I felt would be on the same page as me in term of raising kids and having the same belief system and not having one parent going 'don’t do this' and the other’s going 'this is the best...I’ve always had a weird thing about it because my parents divorced when I was three and I didn’t have many examples of what was the norm.'
I wonder how many hairdressers and stylists would have to be in attendance for a Mariah childbirth?

Well...not HERE here. But THERE here.
Unless you live in the UK...in which case it really is here, here.
Which is to say...The
world premiere of Sex and the City was in London today!
New Yorkers must be piiiiiissed about this. And not just because they consider themselves the center of the universe.
Because like half of the success of the show hinges on the allure of Manhattan. This would be like having the premiere of
Baywatch in Chicago. So wrong.
In related news, Sarah Jessica Parker stands as physical proof that humans really can sprout seeds if they take the right supplements!
Luckily, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall were spared of these particular vitamins and ensuing fashion syndrome.
Or perhaps that's just a hat, and
Sarah's Carrie's just trying to be festive?

Angelina Jolie sports her favorite color while taking her a-freaking-dorable daughters Zahara and Shiloh on a little shopping spree in the Mediterranean country of Monaco.
Also in tow - two new baby girls inside Angie's ever-expanding belly. Word has it the twins are due any day, and in keeping with the Jolie-Pitt tradition of exotic births, they'll probably be welcomed into the world at Monaco's local hospital.
Meanwhile, Brad is off riding helicopters with the sons Pax and Maddox. Perhaps bracing themselves for the upcoming estrogen surplus?

All of Hollywood and its mother was in New York City Monday night to attend the Metropolitan Museum's 'Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy' gala.
And despite what the theme would suggest, NONE of them dressed up special.
Which is to say, they looked gorgeous/delectable/lickable/whatever, but there were definitely no Batmans or Supergirls.
Maggie Gyllenhaal came close, however, looking like the evil queen out of 'Sleeping Beauty' (do Disney characters qualify as superheros?), and
Christina Ricci appropriately channeled the Queen of Hearts, which I appreciated. Gotta also give
Naomi Watts and
Tilda Swinton some props for trying to look super-hereo-esque.
Check out the full collection of gorgeous gala-goers below...

Actress and frequent fashion disaster Bai Ling took a break from shooting 'Crank 2: High Voltage' and spent a sunny Sunday afternoon in Venice,
California.
The red carpet fixture, who takes on the role of a lovesick prostitute in love with Jason Statham (at least the motivation for the role is there) got a little workout courtesy of a recumbent bike and then headed to the ocean in a barely-there bikini to pose for pictures and splash around in the Pacific.
I could see this little number making it into Bai's on-screen wardrobe, if you know what I mean.

I don't know if every girl's crazy for a sharp-dressed
Clive Owen, but I sure am. The British actor was spotted on the set of the thriller 'Duplicity' in New York City on Sunday. The film, which co-stars the perpetually down-in-the-dumps
Julia Roberts is about halfway done shooting in the Big Apple.
In a recent Q&A session that took place during the Tribeca Film Festival, Clive said of the film, the second feature from 'Michael Clayton' director Tony Gilroy, 'I read the script and thought it was brilliant. I'd met Tony already, and he screened 'Michael Clayton' for me. Obviously, when I saw that, it was a no-brainer.'
Clive admitted that he didn't have a wish list of directors he wanted to work with because, 'To be honest with you, the level of people I've been working with in the last few years...I'm not wanting for anything. People like Spike Lee and Alfonso [Cuaron] and Tony Gilroy...I don't need anything more than that at the moment.'
So, has every role been a no-brainer for Clive? He says about his process for choosing roles, 'The times you say no are as important as the times you say yes.' When asked if he had made some mistakes in his choices, he said, 'I've never, ever regretted it' but then added, 'I have said yes to some things I wish I had not.'
In looking at his resume, the only thing I could find that I think he probably should have said 'no' to was his uncredited role in the unwatchable 'The Pink Panther.'

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes rose bright 'n' early this morning to head home from a short jaunt to New York City with daughter Suri in tow.
During their interview, Tom told Oprah Winfrey that his little girl is 'magic.' The tyke is quite bewitching, I must admit.
TomKat were in town to enjoy dinner with Jerry Seinfeld's wife Jessica and see the play 'The Country Girl' - which seems to be a big draw for
Hollywood's A-list.
The actor may return to the East Coast come New York Marathon time. Reports say that Tom's been in training for the 26.2 mile race and he's hoping to beat wife Katie's time. He seems like the competitive type, doesn't he?

In the best news I've heard all day, sometime-singer Ashlee Simpson said that rumors of a 'Newlyweds'-type reality show featuring her and Fall Out Boy fiance Pete Wentz are false.
Finally, a Simpson figures out that the reality TV format isn't good for wedded bliss.
The fashion-coordinated couple, in England while Ashlee promotes her latest album 'Bittersweet World,' appeared on British television Channel 4's
music show 'The Nokia Green Room' yesterday.
Ashlee still hasn't quashed the rumors that she's pregnant. Let's keep the speculation going - she is wearing a baggy shirt....

Leighton Meester, in full young socialite mode, films scenes for 'Gossip Girl' on location near New York's Battery Park yesterday.
Do the east coast elite really dress like this? I think the gloves and hat combo may just be a little too much, don't you think?
Of course, as Leighton described her character in this month's
Nylon magazine, this outfit could be right on the mark. In the mag, she described Blair's style as '
uptight and conservative and put together and everything has to be perfect' and, judging by some of the previous 'uptight' ensembles we've seen on Blair, I guess this one fits her character perfectly.
Of course, once she's out of character, the hat and gloves are quickly jettisoned. Leighton later emerged from her trailer looking like a normal person, in a pair of shorts and a cute orange to. Now
that I could wear.

Is it just me or does Gwyneth Paltrow look a
lot more lifelike than she used to? The 35-year-old actress was the center of attention at the UK premiere of 'Iron Man' at London's Odeon Theater in
Leicester Square Thursday night. Gwynnie received more attention than the film's star, Robert Downey Jr., who was also on hand for the screening.
Guess all of those two-and-a-half-hour
workout sessions with Madonna have really paid off.
The actress looked stunning in her red carpet best - a frock that put the 'little' in 'little black dress' and her new short 'n' wavy hairdo.
Gwyneth, playing Pepper Potts (the best character name outside of the Bond franchise) in the action flick, had nothing but praise for her co-star Robert, saying, 'He's full of life. I hope I work with him for the rest of my life.'
She was a bit more tight-lipped when asked about her hubby Chris Martin's new album, she said, 'It's brilliant. Don't tell him I told you. I can't talk about it. He gets furious.'
Whatever you're doing to look so great Gwyneth, keep it up.

Heather Locklear made the Hawaiian island of Oahu even more breathtaking as she filmed scenes for her upcoming TV movie 'Flirting with Forty.'
The Lifetime film stars Heather as a divorced mother of two who decides to spend her 40th birthday in Hawaii and has a romantic encounter with a surf instructor, played by Robert Buckley, who you may know as Kirby on 'Lipstick Jungle.'
The 46-year-old actress definitely looks like she can give the 26-year-old Robert a run for his money as she was hanging ten like a pro.
Heather spent all day filming in and out of the water. She also suffered a slight neck injury while purposely falling off the surfboard. But, ever the trouper, Heather was later the picture of health as she posed on the beach in a skimpy red bikini.
Hawaii is definitely a bit hotter with Heather there.

Leave it to Brad Pitt to make an impressive entrance. The actor - and motorcycle enthusiast - showed
up for dinner with friends at LA's Ammo restaurant last night on a
customized chopper.
With all of his work with Katrina victims in New Orleans, Brad's
more 'angel' than 'Hell's Angel', but he sure does look good on that
bike.
Brad and his friends enjoyed a leisurely, 2-hour dinner
at the casual eatery and the 'Oceans 11' star gave hugs all around
before speeding off into the LA night.
At the rate Brad's going
in the child production and acquisition department, he should soon have
enough kids to start his own biker gang.
